There are 3 quick ways to find your HP printer’s password.
- Using HP Smart
- Using Network Configuration page and
- Via the printer screen.
Let me quickly tell you that the HP printer password is 12345678 by default for most of the models. So, try it first.
If that does not work, here are the detailed steps for each method I discussed above.
Using HP Smart
This is the easiest way to find the HP printer password regardless of the printer model you have.
- Launch HP Smart on your computer. If you don’t have it, download it first from the HP Smart official website.
- On the homepage, choose Printer Settings.
- Click Advanced Settings on the left.
- The app will show the password under Wi-Fi Direct tab.
- Once you grab the password, you can easily connect to your printer’s Wi-Fi SSID using it.
Using Network Configuration Page
The steps to print this page slightly differ from model to model.
In case of my HP inkjet printer, I need to press the Wi-Fi button along with the Information button to do it.
Check your user manual to see what works for you and do accordingly.
Once you press the button (combination), your printer will print a Network configuration page.
It will show the Wi-Fi Direct password along with the printer’s IP address, WPS PIN and other technical details.
Using the Printer Screen
Last but not the least, if your printer comes with a touch screen, you can always go to its Network settings and see the Wi-Fi Direct password.
Pro Tip: If any of these options do not seem feasible for you, you can also reset your HP printer.
Then as I mentioned earlier, try using 12345678 as a password, which is the default one for most of the HP printer models out there.
Please let me know if you need any assistance. Comment down your HP printer model and I will reply to you as soon as possible😉
