2 Universal Methods to Connect HP Printer to WiFi

Today, I’m going to show you two different methods to connect HP printer to WiFi.

And guess what?

Both these methods works for all the HP printer models out there.

Let’s discuss ’em in detail.

Use HP Smart to Connect HP Printer to WiFi

  1. First things first. Grab the USB A-B cable and use it to connect the printer (temporarily) to your computer.
  2. Power on your printer.
  3. Then, go to HP Smart official website and download-install the app on your computer.
  4. Once the app installs, launch it, then follow on-screen instructions to complete the printer setup.
  5. Also, make sure the printer has Ready status.
  6. If you see any other status, please act accordingly to fix it. For instance, if you see Printer is Sleeping status, you need to press the Power button on your printer to wake it up.
  7. After that, open Printer Settings.
  8. Open Advanced Settings under Settings.
  9. Proceed with Wireless Setup Wizard.
  10. Choose your WiFi network > Next.
  11. Enter the passphrase of your network > Next.
  12. You’ll see this screen once the connection establishes successfully.
  13. Finally, you can remove the USB cable too.

Use Printer Driver to Connect HP Printer to WiFi

  1. Use the USB A-B cable and connect your computer and printer (temporarily.)
  2. Turn on your printer.
  3. Connect your computer to WiFi. (Note: The printer will get connected to this same WiFi later.)
  4. Once you do these three things, go to the official website for HP printer driver.
  5. Enter your product name in the search box.

  6. Download the full driver package for your printer on the next page.

  7. Launch the setup file you just downloaded and keep following the on-screen instructions.
  8. Once you are here at this screen, choose Manual Setup.

  9. Proceed with the Wireless option.

  10. Check the box next to The device is already connected to my wireless network.

  11. Keep following the prompts till you get to the window that says WiFi connection is successful.

  12. You can also remove the USB cable afterwards.

Yay!! You did it.🥳 Your HP printer is now connected to WiFi.
