Today, I will show you how to connect WiFi on three different types of Canon printer.
- On Multifunction (MF) series printers (that come with bigger LCD screen)
- On MegaTank series printers (that come with small LCD screen)
- On Printers without screen (this method works for any Canon printer)
Let’s see steps for all three of ‘em in detail.
On Multifunction (MF) Series Printers
- Open Menu from the printer’s home screen.
- Go to Network Settings > Press OK.
- Choose this “Select Wired/Wireless” option.
- Go down to Wireless LAN.
- Open WLAN Settings on the next screen.
- Move forward with the SSID Settings option.
- Select Access Point.
- Choose your preferred WiFi network and enter its password.
- If you need to toggle between lowercase and uppercase letters, or need to use symbols, go to Switch Entry Mode option.
- Click the Apply option once you type in the password.
- Select Yes and you are done. Your Canon printer is now connected to WiFi.
On MegaTank Series Printers
- Press this Utility button (with Pliers-Screwdriver icon) on your printer.
- Once you press it, it will bring up this menu.
- Press the OK button.
- Then, use the Right button and go to Manual connection. Press OK.
- Choose WiFi network you want to connect to and again press OK.
- You will be asked for WiFi password (passphrase.) Enter it.
- Use this Undo button as a backspace. Similarly, the Asterisk button to toggle between lowercase/uppercase and numbers.
- Press OK once you complete typing the password.
- Your Canon printer will now connect to WiFi.
Universal Method to Connect any Canon Printer to WiFi
- First things first. Power on your printer and connect it to your computer using the USB cable.
- Then, open a web browser on your computer.
- Go to the Canon official website for printer driver.
- Proceed with the Set Up (Start Here) button.
- Enter your printer model > click the Go button and Download the setup file for your printer driver.
- Launch the .exe (setup file) you just downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions.
- At one point, you will see this window where it will ask you to select your preferred WiFi network and enter its corresponding password.
- Do it and click Next.
- You’ll get to this window once the printer successfully connects to WiFi.
- Finally, you can also unplug the USB cable.
