How to Connect Canon Printer to WiFi [All Models]

Today, I will show you how to connect WiFi on three different types of Canon printer.

  1. On Multifunction (MF) series printers (that come with bigger LCD screen)
  2. On MegaTank series printers (that come with small LCD screen)
  3. On Printers without screen (this method works for any Canon printer)

Let’s see steps for all three of ‘em in detail.

On Multifunction (MF) Series Printers

  1. Open Menu from the printer’s home screen.
  2. Go to Network Settings > Press OK.
  3. Choose this “Select Wired/Wireless” option.
  4. Go down to Wireless LAN.
  5. Open WLAN Settings on the next screen.
  6. Move forward with the SSID Settings option.
  7. Select Access Point.
  8. Choose your preferred WiFi network and enter its password.
  9. If you need to toggle between lowercase and uppercase letters, or need to use symbols, go to Switch Entry Mode option.
  10. Click the Apply option once you type in the password.
  11. Select Yes and you are done. Your Canon printer is now connected to WiFi.

On MegaTank Series Printers

  1. Press this Utility button (with Pliers-Screwdriver icon) on your printer.
  2. Once you press it, it will bring up this menu.
  3. Press the OK button.
  4. Then, use the Right button and go to Manual connection. Press OK.
  5. Choose WiFi network you want to connect to and again press OK.
  6. You will be asked for WiFi password (passphrase.) Enter it.
  7. Use this Undo button as a backspace. Similarly, the Asterisk button to toggle between lowercase/uppercase and numbers.
  8. Press OK once you complete typing the password.
  9. Your Canon printer will now connect to WiFi.

Universal Method to Connect any Canon Printer to WiFi

  1. First things first. Power on your printer and connect it to your computer using the USB cable.
  2. Then, open a web browser on your computer.
  3. Go to the Canon official website for printer driver.
  4. Proceed with the Set Up (Start Here) button.
  5. Enter your printer model > click the Go button and Download the setup file for your printer driver.
  6. Launch the .exe (setup file) you just downloaded and follow the on-screen instructions.
  7. At one point, you will see this window where it will ask you to select your preferred WiFi network and enter its corresponding password.
  8. Do it and click Next.
  9. You’ll get to this window once the printer successfully connects to WiFi.
  10. Finally, you can also unplug the USB cable.

Well, that’s all about connecting a Canon printer to WiFi.
